Course Overview:
Emergency First Aid at Work provides delegates with an extensive first aid skillset so that they can identify incidents and manage them appropriately, whether the patient is conscious or unconscious. The course is designed to be beneficial to all employees, fulfilling recommendations underlined by the HSE and ensuring that all workplaces have a designated first aider to protect against accidents.

This Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed to teach those interested in emergency first aid and nominated first aiders working in low risk environments.
Aims and objectives of the course:
The aim of this course is to cover several lifesaving techniques for basic level first aid.
Course Content:
At the end of the course delegates will:
The basic role of the first aider in the workplace.
Health and Safety First Aid Regulations.
Treating and caring for casualties.
CPR and other life saving techniques.
Course Content
Treating Burns
Casualty Care
Handling bleeding casualties
Choking (Adults)
Treating Seizures (For Adults) Shock and fainting
Dealing with unconscious casualties
CPR (On Adults only)
Treating unconscious casualties
Equipment
This course requires a training area/room with the facilities to comfortably accommodate the maximum number of delegates. The delegates will require a table and equipment to make notes and the instructor needs power and a place to show a presentation.
Qualification:
Assessment
Throughout the course there is a constant assessment by the instructor who will ask questions about what he has covered in the course, some may be theoretical and some may be practical. At the end of the course there is a 30 question, multiple choice paper to be completed by all delegates. A pass mark of 72% is set for all delegates. Once these papers are marked and delegates passed then they will proceed to a 15-minute practical assessment.
Certificate
All delegates that succeed with the course will receive an A4 certificate of attendance this will be valid for 3 years.
