SMSTS – Site Management Safety Training Scheme

This 5-day SMSTS Site Manager Course provides project managers, site managers, and supervisors with the knowledge and skills to enable them to ensure the health and safe conditions for construction site employees.

At the end of the course delegates will have developed a comprehensive understanding of:

CDM (Construction and Design Management Regulations)
The Health And Safety Work Act 1974 and specific regulations related to the construction industry.
RIDDOR (Reporting of injuries, diseases, and dangerous occurrences).
Proactive and reactive monitoring.
Principles of Manual Handling, PPE and First Aid.
How to develop and maintain positive health and safety culture in the workplace.
Behavioural safety.
Management of occupational health.
Excavation regulations
Working at height regulations
Demolition regulations.

Throughout the course, the following topics will be introduced, explained or demonostrated to the delegates:

This is a highly interactive course delivered by means of case studies, classroom discussions, and group work. You MUST attend all 5 days of the course as a requirement to pass and achieve the qualification. In addition, you will be required to undertake some self-study outside of the course.

All delegates that succeed in this course will receive an A4 certificate provided by the CITB this will be valid for 5 years.

What is Required?

This course requires a training area/room with the facilities to comfortably accommodate the maximum number of delegates. The delegates will require a table and equipment to make notes and the instructor needs power and a place to show a presentation.

How Long is the Course?

The total length of the course is: 5 Days ran over three weeks.

The Course is ran over 3 weeks, how are the 5 days split?

Usually, the weeks will be broken down like so:

Week 1 will consist of 2 days.

Week 2 will consist of 1 day.

Week 3 will consist of the final 2 days.
