Fire Marshal

This Fire Marshal Course covers the role of the designated Fire Marshal (duties and responsibilities). It also gives you the opportunity to learn about the build-up of Fire and the different types of fire extinguishers and how to use them correctly. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, employers have a legal obligation to appoint a suitable number of Fire Marshals and make sure certain procedures are in place.

Aims and objectives of the course:

This fire marshal course will provide the delegates with a comprehensive review of theoretical and practical understanding of the typical functions of a fire marshal within a workplace. This course will additionally give delegates an understanding of how fires start and propagate within buildings, together with the tools to assist with the development and implementation of emergency evacuation arrangements.

At the end of the course delegates will be trained to:

Explain how fire and smoke spread within buildings
Awareness of all fire safety measures in the workplace
Understanding of their actions in the event of fire and operation of the fire alarm

Assessment

Throughout the course there is a constant assessment by the instructor who will ask questions about what he has covered in the course, some may be theoretical and some may be practical. At the end of the course, there is a 30-question, multiple-choice paper to be completed by all delegates. A pass mark of 72% is set for all delegates. Once these papers are marked and delegates passed then they will proceed to a 10-minute practical assessment.

Certificate

All delegates that succeed with the course will receive an A4 certificate of attendance this will be valid for 3 years.
