Fire Marshal 1/2 Day out of 289 Delegates

This course covers the role of the designated Fire Marshal (duties & responsibilities). It also gives you the opportunity to learn about the build-up of Fire and the different types of fire extinguisher and how to use them correctly. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, employers have a legal obligation to appoint a suitable number of Fire Marshals and make sure certain procedures are in place.


Who should attend?

This course is suitable for those who are responsible for overseeing fire safety, designated fire marshals and anyone who needs to know how to use a fire extinguisher.


Aims and objectives of the course:

This fire marshal course will provide the delegates with a comprehensive review of theoretical and practical understanding of the typical functions of a fire marshal within a workplace. This course will additionally give delegates an understanding of how fires start and propagate within buildings together with the tools to assist with the development and implementation of emergency evacuation arrangements.


At the end of the course delegates will be trained to:

  • Understand the role of the Fire Marshal / Warden.
  • Understand the importance of regular fire drills.
  • Explain how fire and smoke spread within buildings.
  • Awareness of all fire safety measures in the workplace.
  • Understanding of their actions in the event of fire and the operation of the fire alarm.
  • Confidence in identifying and operating the correct fire fighting equipment.
  • Explain common causes of fire in the workplace.
  • Assist the company in simulated and live emergency evacuation situations.
  • An understanding of human behaviour in fire.
  • Understanding the threat of arson.

Equipment Required

This course requires a training area/room with the facilities to comfortably accommodate the maximum number of delegates. The delegates will require a table and equipment to make notes and the instructor needs power and a place to show a presentation.

Our training centre is based in Braintree, Essex. Tea and coffee facilities are provided and other refreshments can be made available by request.

Assessment

Throughout the course there is a constant assessment by the instructor who will ask questions about what he has covered in the course, some may be theoretical or some may be practical. At the end of the course there is a 30 question multiple choice paper to be completed by all delegates. A pass mark of 72% is set for all delegates. Once these papers are marked and delegates passed then they will proceed to a 10 minute practical assessment.


Certificate

All delegates that succeed with the course will receive an A4 certificate of attendance that will be valid for 3 years.
